Art enthusiasts will find themselves inspired by the eclectic blend of contemporary artworks, quirky furnishings, and historical artefacts decorating the estate. Every space is thoughtfully curated, featuring pieces from around the globe that have been hand-selected by the estate’s creative owners. From historic oil paintings, to an old plane ejector chair, guests could spend hours exploring each nook and its unique artworks. We particularly loved the retro record player which provided the soundtrack to our stay. The art and design of the manor doesn’t just lie between its walls, the 14.5 acres in which it lies is stunningly landscaped by the renowned Jinny Blom. Guests are free to roam in the abundance of flowers, trees, vegetables and herbs that are peppered throughout the gardens, with the onsite gardener, Mark Emery, often on-hand to answer any questions from aspiring horticulturists.

Amenities

Despite the serenity that the Cotswolds landscape brings to the estate, guests will never be short of ways to spend their time. Whether it be a bracing wild swim in the lake, a more relaxing dip in the heated outdoor pool, or an indulgent glass of Champagne in the hot tub, the quiet and rural setting bears no relation to the extensive amenities at the manor. For fitness enthusiasts, the estate offers an all-weather astro-turf tennis court, table tennis table, and a water rower gym, as well as the opportunity to book private exercise sessions. For those who prefer a slower pace to  their holidays, the manor has a secret cinema room fit with a wall-to-wall projector, colour changing lighting, and the comfiest of sofas to sink into. During our stay, we started our morning with a private Pilates class in the dedicated studio, a dive into the turquoise outdoor pool, and topped it off with a deep tissue massage in the on-site spa - an idyllic start to any morning. 

Food & Drink

At Temple Guiting Manor, the focus on home-grown and locally-grown produce was notable: down to the finest detail, such as a Daylesford chocolate bar on our pillow, everything we ate and drank was selected from the manor’s locale. To accompany us during our stay was the lovely Estate chef, Rebecca, who designed and selected a beautiful charcuterie board that overflowed with local cheeses, meats, sun-blushed tomatoes and even local truffle honey. Before our departure, she prepared us a four-course breakfast of fruit platters, stewed home grown rhubarb granola bowls, salmon bagels, and wild mushrooms and poached eggs on toast. These fresh and organic dishes were not only irresistible, but also represented Temple Guiting Manor’s sustainable ethos and support of the local community. Their private chef can be organised to cook for any number of guests —whether you hire out the whole estate or just the one-bedroom cow byre — curating a menu based on your taste and demands. This is just one of the ways your experience at the Manor can be individually-tailored to your party's demands.

If you don’t want a private chef throughout your whole stay, the team can organise shopping deliveries to the Manor from Daylesford Farm, or meat deliveries from the local butcher so you can cook up your own culinary delights.. Alternatively, there is a charming pub just a short drive away called The Halfway at Kineton: a special mention must go to their pies and wine selection. It’s the perfect pub to settle into for a cosy afternoon.

What’s On?

At Temple Guiting Manor, guests can tailor their stay to their every whim. The team will work alongside guests to organise activities to fill their stay with workshops, classes, and excursions that they’ve never experienced before. This could be anything from a private cooking lesson, a mixology masterclass, or even a rifle shooting lesson. Our group was guided through a wreath making workshop where we made our own creations in the beautiful gardens of the Manor. My wreath now hangs on my wall at home as a lovely memory of the weekend. The opportunity for workshops and classes make the estate the perfect place for corporate team bonding getaways without the stuffiness. 

It may prove difficult to pull yourself away from the estate, but if you do, the surrounding area boasts a variety of activities to immerse yourself in the Gloucestershire countryside. Spend an afternoon horseback riding through the lush landscapes, or teeing off at the nearby golf course. The Manor’s team can organise these without you lifting a finger.
