Perched on the picturesque Kachemak Bay, Tutka Bay Lodge offers visitors the ultimate setting to explore the stunning Alaskan wilderness. An exceptional culinary experience and days of adventure in an eco-friendly model await.
The stunning Tutka Bay Lodge is located on the tip of Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula at the gateway of Kachemak Bay State Park. The lodge sits along a private cove within a rugged nine-mile fjord and offers unparalleled experiences for guests to experience this special part of remote Alaska through all five senses. The main lodge at Tutka Bay is a small, intimate building where guests can enjoy pre-dinner appetizers, dine, play games, or explore a National Geographic library and nature nook, as well as sign up for activities including daily 50-minute cooking classes with one of the lodge’s award-wining chefs, complimentary massage, and yoga classes on the deck. Given its prime location on the Bay, the lodge’s guides lead guests in unforgettable experiences in sea kayaking, whale-watching, dockside fishing, inter-tide pooling, and beyond. A highlight of the Tutka Bay experience is participating in chefs Kirsten and Mandy Dixons’ approach to the lodge’s sustainable culinary practices, which include foraging for wild herbs and berries, reeling in freshly caught Alaskan salmon and halibut from guided fly-fishing excursions, and learning to work with these precious native ingredients in the cooking classes. Guests access Tutka Bay Lodge via boat from the village of Homer or by floatplane from Anchorage, with round-trip fares and transfers arranged by Within the Wild and included in the package rate. Tutka Bay Lodge is open for the summer season through September, and offers full lodge buyouts for those seeking privacy and distance.
