Enjoy yoga and wellbeing retreats in peaceful British surroundings at Cardigan Castle

Take time out to focus on your body and your wellbeing in the luxury and picturesque surroundings of Cardigan castle in west Wales. The castle is inviting guests to be whisked away from everyday life to enjoy rest and relaxation in their grounds, including a yoga retreat and wellbeing weekend, both held this November. Cardigan Castle, overlooking the River Teifi, won Channel 4’s Restoration of the Year after a £12m investment, and features antique furniture and exclusively designed Welsh decor.

From 5 – 9 November 2018, Cardigan castle will welcome yoga expert Jenny Beekan, co-founder of UK charity Yoga Trust. This course is suitable for all levels, from absolute beginner to advanced yogi. The five-day course will cover a wide variety of yoga classes including dynamic waking up postures, sun salutations, breathing and meditation. Guests are invited to stay in Cardigan Castle’s beautiful grounds and enjoy freshly-prepared, nutritious food served at the castle’s on-site contemporary restaurant, 1176, run by chef Tom Holden, all included in this unforgettable experience.

Cardigan castle is also running a wellbeing retreat from 9 – 12 November 2018, lead by Clare Skelton and Sean Dowdall, both experts in Chinese health arts and therapies including Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung. This weekend getaway will focus primarily on rest and renewal, and guests can look forward to gentle remedial exercise, breathing techniques and meditation to aid with their health and overall wellbeing. Whilst Clare and Sean will lead a variety of traditional restorative exercises such as stretching and strengthening in order to improve flexibility, co-ordination and balance, the programme will also include sitting and walking meditation classes, to help guests relax their mind. The weekend will include eight sessions with Clare, two additional optional evening sessions, a Tui Na massage or acupuncture treatment with Sean, and wholesome, nutritious meals served at the on-site restaurant.

Both the yoga and the wellbeing retreats are open to anyone and are strictly limited to 10 guests per experience as a way of ensuring that everyone involved has the right tuition and are provided with their very own bespoke retreat to meet their individual needs.
