Spend the summer in Suffolk’s newest hotspot…

Looking for a property that combines comfort and luxury? The newly opened Moat Cottage at Wilderness Reserve – a stunning privately-owned 5,000 acre estate in the heart of Suffolk – should fit the bill.

Perched picturesquely atop a hill, this moated Tudor farmhouse with its thatched roof, wide old oak boards, ancient rolling timber frame and underfloor heating, offers a luxury collection of fully serviced properties available to rent for weekends (or infinitely longer).

There are six beautifully appointed bedrooms to choose from (one of which is in its own bothy perching over the moat) and all elate: expect Goose feather pillows and copper baths to boot.

Beyond the bedrooms, you’ll find a cosy sitting room complete with an inglenook fire while, a stunning open-plan kitchen – whose oak bi-fold doors offer sweeping views of the Suffolk landscape – and an enchanting summer house. The latter provides the perfect spot for fishing in the moat, stocked as it is with fish such as Skimmers, Roach and Rudd. Elsewhere the bothy boasts its own hot tub, in which to relax and unwind.

On the food front, Moat Cottage can provide chefs and butlers to cater to visiting gourmands’ whims. And don’t worry about the calories you’re consuming: you can always work them off by biking or hiking through the estate’s thousands of ares of Insta-perfect landscapes or indulging in a spot of clay-pigeon shooting or bird watching.

Alternatively make like Andy Murray and hone your serve on one of the tennis courts on the main estate (about 15 minutes from Moat Cottage) or simply splash about in the natural filtered swimming pool…

Further afield, Sybarites can take trips to Aldeburgh or the sand dunes in Southwold but chances are you won’t be able to tear yourself away from marvellous Moat Cottage.

Bottom line? Located as it is just two hours from London and a stone’s throw from the Heritage Coast, this sumptuous Suffolk property is the perfect place to switch off without having to jet off.

Prices at Moat Cottage start from £562 per night (based on a seven night stay). You will have to be a member of The Sybarite to take advantage of this experience. Please read our terms and conditions before booking. For more information, kindly email us on [email protected].
