Alsace’s and Burgundy’s wine scene is second to none – discover it for yourself
”Wine is the most civilised thing in the world.”
So said the great American 20th century novelist, Ernest Hemingway. And when it comes to great grapes, Burgundy might do wine better than anywhere in the world… Time spent sipping wine – one of life’s few true pleasures – in this picturesque region of France, is time well spent. The tour starts in Dijon, capital of the Ducs of Burgundy that’s also famous for its mustard, before continuing on to the outrageously photogenic town of Nuit St. Georges and the small city of Beaune, with plenty of opportunities to jump off en-route to visit wineries, where wine tasting comes as standard. All told, anyone who loves wine, food and fun combined with a little leg, lung and bum burning exercise, should treat themselves to this short-haul get away!
